Meet the maker

Hi there!

I'm Anna, the face (and hands) behind Piko Ceramics. My journey into the world of pottery began as a much-needed escape during the lockdown of 2020. What started as a simple hobby quickly blossomed into a daily love affair with clay, and I haven't looked back since.

In the summer of 2023, I took a leap of faith and transformed my passion into a full-time business. Now, as a dedicated potter, I find joy in the ability to create every day and share that joy with my customers.

One thing that I find absolutely amazing about being a full-time potter is how the regular world around me all of a sudden becomes a source of inspiration. Looking back at all my work that I've created over the years, I can almost see a story of my life: things that grabbed my attention and inspired me. I love to learn new techniques and think of ways to bring my ideas to life.

I am a handbuilder, which means I make my pottery without the use of an electric pottery wheel. I chose this style of making because I enjoy the meditative slowness of the process, as well as the uniqueness of each piece that emerges from my kiln. I also relish the challenge of striving for perfection in my pieces solely through the use of my own hands.

I’m looking forward to growing as a full time potter and making more and more customers happy with my unique pottery. Each sale brings me one step closer to living my dream job, and I'm deeply grateful for the support and encouragement along this journey. Thank you for being a part of the Piko Ceramics story.
